Process

Today I am cleaning up the wax and adding some more texture to the ring. I am also making the top plate with rope detail to set the diamonds in. We figured out that casting the ring base seperately from the plate will help the final product come out cleaner, because the investment may not be able to get in all the cracks and crevices if its enclosed. I still need to work some final tweaks out and drill the holes where the diamonds will sit.

Wax Today

I will post some of my older work later, but I wanted to go ahead and show you what I am working on today.

This is going to be a 14kt yellow gold men's ring with 10 .5 carat diamonds on the face. I will post progress pictures as I go along.

This picture shows the wax that I am working from. I have already carved it quite a bit and made it to size. I'm still hollowing and thinning the wax out to add some cut out filigree details.
